Meet Me

I began my career in Brazil, where I taught English to young adults for several years. This early immersion in a diverse culture and focus on empowering young people provided the initial spark for a career transition toward global human rights. Since that time I have gone on to perform a number of research, teaching and consultancy roles in academic and non-academic settings. These have included projects on research in development, justice after conflict, and leadership. I've worked with professionals and practitioners from a diversity of backgrounds across this career trajectory, such as Human Rights Defenders at risk on the Protective Fellowship Scheme at the University of York, where I'm currently employed.

My coaching focus is on supporting professionals and leaders in the helping professions, including those operating in high-stakes environments. Through these partnerships, I address the unique ethical challenges, dilemmas, and pressures faced by those whose work requires sound judgment and responsible leadership in challenging contexts. I apply a character-based coaching model designed to support clients to get specific about what they want and to take action toward becoming the best version of themselves. In my coaching the client always leads the way, using our partnership to work on the issues, challenges and dilemmas they face.
